Kickboxing championship/seminar ends in Lagos

The 3rd edition of the Diamond Superstars Promotions Open Kickboxing Championship/ Referee Seminar has ended in Lagos.

Held in conjunction with the Kickboxing Federation of Nigeria (KBFN), the programme took place from 28 to 31 August 2024 at the Brai Ayenote Boxing Gym, National Stadium Surulere Lagos.

A total of 20 referees/Judges took part in the exercise while over 24 Kickboxers drawn from 12 states across the country participated in the competition that climaxed the exercise.

The states include, Bayelsa, Edo, Lagos, Ogun and Oyo among others.

Meanwhile, President of the (KBFN), Wilson Gabriel Okon, said the Referees/Judges Seminar was aimed at empowering the officiating officials ahead of the forthcoming National Youth Games holding in September, in Asaba, the Delta State Capital.

The President also expressed his gratitude to the United States of America based Nigerian born former National women boxing and Kickboxing Champion, former women Martial Arts Champion and reknowned international referee of repute, Loveth Patra Ekufu for her consistent sponsorship of the annual Kickboxing Seminar/ Championship for the past three years back-to-back as a way of giving back to the society that she started from.

He prayed the Almighty God to continue to bless, protect and uphold her now and always. And above all, to grant her all her heart desires.

A total of 10 bouts were held to round up the 2024 Diamond Superstars Promotions/ KBFN Seminar and Championship.
