Kogi Deputy Governor, plays host to Pro- Wrestling Champion, Aliking
The Deputy Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Comrade Joel Salifu, on Wednesday, September, 3, 2025, received Kogi State born Pro- Wrestling Champion, Aliking in his country home at Ejule, in Ofu Local Government Area of the state
Welcoming him, the Deputy Governor described Aliking as an ambassador of the state who has been representing it for more than a decade in professional wrestling; saying that the entire citizens of the state are proud of him
According to the state’s number two citizen, who is a die-hard professional wrestling fan, he has been hearing of Aliking’s exploits in the ring for quite sometime now, noting that he’s happy meeting him for the first time, just as he promised that the state government will support him to ensure he writes the name of the state in the world map of professional wrestling.
In his remarks, the champion informed the Deputy Governor that the visit was to formally brief him about the forth coming world Professional Wrestling Championship tagged ‘Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo Peace and unity world wrestling Championship’ billed for Muhammadu Buhari event Center, Lokoja, on Saturday, December, 13, 2025 in which he will be fighting Heddi Karaoui “the French Submission Machine” for the vacant AIWF world middle weight title.
He promised to make the state proud at the championship, boosting that ten of Heddi karoui cannot stop him from becoming the next AIWF World Middle weight champion and title holder.
“ Heddi Karaoui may be coming to Nigeria from France with lots of training gargets at his disposal, but I will not let him cart away the AIWF World Middle Weight Title just like that.
“I will be competing for glory in front of my Governor, Deputy Governor and other illustrious sons and daughters of Kogi state and as such will not allow a foreigner to go away with the world middleweight belt.
“it is not possible for that to happen in front of my fans and the entire state. The die is cast, and the stage is set for the first ever world sports championship to be hosted in the confluence state of Nigeria” boasted Aliking.
The historic first of it kind wrestling Championship will be promoted by a prominent indigenous wrestling Promotions outfit, Pro Wrestling Afrik Promotions Ltd having received approval from the Allied Independent Wrestling Federations (AIWF), an American based world wrestling body with head office at Mount Airy, North Carolina, USA.
AIWF is a global professional wrestling body that unites over 150 independent wrestling promotions in 52 countries, with a growing presence in Africa. It works with local organizations to promote international professional wrestling and discover new talents in the sports.
The body is active in countries like Nigeria, Cameroon, Benin, Togo, Zimbabwe and Botswana. An approval has been received already from the world body that has sanctioned the championship, to the promoting organization where Aliking A.K.A Action Disaster of Nigeria would be taking on Heddi Karaoui “the French Submission Machine” from France.
Meanwhile, Secretary General of Pro Wrestling Africa (PWA), Olusesan Olukoya has promised that the championship will go a long way in bringing professional wrestling closer to the youths of Kogi State and neighbouring states.
“We want to bring the world to Kogi State and then write the name of the state on the world professional wrestling map. Aliking deserves to compete for the world middle weight title having climbed the ladder from the cradle to the stage he is now as the African middleweight champion and title holder”,

He listed other prominent wrestlers billed to feature in the epoch-making international championship as; Mr. Sharpman, PWA Light heavyweight champion, Flying Danko who is also an indigene of Kogi State as well as other talents from Congo, Cameroon, Ghana and Gambia”
Olukoya was also full of praises to the Deputy Governor who said that his principal the Chief servant of the state is also a sport lover and he will welcome Aliking when the opportunity avails.
” It’s also important I commend the Deputy governor for his passion about youths development which he has shown by supporting capacity building and youth empowerment. And for also assuring Aliking of government support which is indeed a welcome initiative”, he concluded.
