Kuejubola canvasses appointment of local coach for Super Falcons

One of the pioneers of female football in the country and proprietor of defunct Ufuoma Babes, Elder Eddington Kuejubola has advised Nigeria Football Federation to do away with the idea of foreign coach for the Super Falcons; saying that the female national team will be better managed by Nigerian coaches.
He told newstap.com.ng that it’s unfortunate that the football house retained the services of American Randy Waldrum as the Super Falcons tactician when there are many local coaches that can handle the team.
“It’s unfortunate that we are still depending on a foreign coach to handle our senior female national team. This is a team that has won the African title for nine times”, began the one time Coordinator of Flying Eagles and former Chairman of Delta State Football Association.
“Are we saying that we don’t have a good coach that can thinker the Super Falcons. For me it’s wasting of tax payers money because we have quality coaches in this country who can handle the team and win laurels.
‘ The truth of the matter is that the foreign coach has not really achieved much because he does not understand the psychology of our players and as such should be shown the exist door “, he stressed.
Kuejubola lamented that the Super Falcons have not made any meaningful impact at the global level despite their dominance in Africa noting that something serious must be done to ensure that the team not only consolidate their leadership position in the continent but also be a force to be reckoned with globally.
“I’m highly concerned that the Super Falcons apart from dominating the continent have failed to translate it to the global stage. Even their dominance of the continent is now being challenged by other countries such as South Africa, Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea and Morocco and as such something drastic need to be done to check this”, he concluded.
