All roads this Friday leads to Mgbala Agwa ancient community as, Kun Khalifat FC, Owerri, one of Nigeria Premiership top clubs for the first time is taking all its arsenals to the rural community in Oguta LGA of Imo State for a memorial friendly match with Uzoma & Family FC, Mgbala Agwa in honour of late Pa Cyril Agughalam Elegbua Nwanneyamuruberenwa, (Hi-Man), aged 89 years.
The match which promises to be an exhibition of football artistry with Kun Khalifat marshalling out their first eleven will be hosted at Siemer, Field Mgbala Agwa by 3 pm.
The historical derby would offer ample opportunity for lovers of football in the revered community and its environ of watching a Premiership club playing scintillating football live in their back yards, with nostalgic emotional and physical presence of their idol players they only watch in the cable.
Expectedly, the match will be a pull out of sports lovers and eminent personalities within and around Imo State as all and sundry are expected to watch the star studded match and cheers up their team and players.
Moreso, Kun Khalifat FC is a football club known for their penchants in harnessing, and developing budding football talents. Obviously, it may not be surprising if they will discover more talents from the football gifted and loving community.
Fellers from the camp of Uzoma & Family FC is indicating that the boys are physically fit, in high spirit and are seriously looking forward for the match. Thus, Kun Khalifat team looking at their opponent as under dogs, may be in for surprises.
Moreso, the boys have vowed to earn victory in honour of the deceased father of their financier, late Pa Cyril Agughalam Elegbua Nwanneyamuruberenwa, (Hi-Man).
Uzoma Elegbua who’s proprietor of the aforementioned local football club and also the first son of the deceased, informed that his beloved father who died at the age of 89 years would be buried this Saturday (28/11/2025) at late Mr. Elegbua Eluchie family of Umuesoegbelu Mgbala Agwa after the corpse leaves Specialist Hospital Owerri and a requiem mass at St. John Catholic Parish, Mgbala Agwa.
Elegbua pointed out that the friendly match apart from being part of the programmes organized to honour his deceased sports loving father, that it’s equally strategically tailored towards his passion of helping in the discovering, harnessing and developing football talents within and around the community.
He passionately expressed his appreciation for his friends, family members, relations, business associates and well wishers to grace both the friendly match fiesta and the burial proper as part of their solidarity to the family during their period of grief.
