Lack of investment is killing Nigerian football- Nwora

Mr. Obinna Henry Nwora, a FIFA licenced football scouting agent has identified lack of investment as the major problem to Nigeria football administrators planned efforts for the growth, transformation and development of the game in the country.
Nwora who’s also the CEO and Proprietor of Brazuca Football Academy, Brazuca Football Club and Brazuca Charity Foundation disclosed this in an exclusive interview with newstap.ng.com on Saturday at Dan Anyiam Stadium, shortly after the week 4 Nigeria National League (NNL) game with Heartland FC, Owerri and Inter Lagos FC, in which the Owerri landlord returned with victory thrill of 3-2, as they pummeled the hard fighting visiting Lagos based team.
“The problem with Nigeria football is lack of investment, lack of investment kills Nigeria football. You cannot expect good results in football without adequate investment on the players, technical crew, the environment, equipment and infrastructures.
“You don’t expect returns on investment in football when you invested little or nothing. The problem of Nigeria football is lack of serious commitment towards investing in football, the same with most African countries even though they have potential good players that needs to be invested for their skills development, so to blossom in the nearest future in the overall interest of the nation and the society at large” he lamented.
The international football administrator passionately advised Imo State Government on the need to invest seriously in Heartland FC as well as in the budding talents of youths of the state, while reassuring them of gaining bumper harvest from the sports investment in the nearest future.
He recalled that Imo State used to have the best footballers and other good sports men and women in Nigeria and further enjoined the state government on the need to go back to the bases and reclaim the state’s potentials in sports in the country and the world at large.
Nwora also reiterated that with Coach Emmanuel Amunike, as the Technical Head of Heartland FC that the team will certainly regain its lost glories and quickly bounced back to premiership and continental exploits.
“Honestly, if the players can maintain the kind of doggedness and Spartan spirit I witnessed during their match with Inter Lagos FC, Heartland will surely bounce back to premiership league by next football season.
“The players are good, great and fantastic. Am one football agent and administrator that believes so much in discovery budding football talents from the grassroot.
” With what Coach Emmanuel Amunike is doing, he will certainly be getting the needed results, having been disturbed over their relegation last year” he assured.
