Lagos agog for Pro- Wrestling Africa mid year bash championship

All is now set for the much talked about Pro- Wrestling Africa ( PWA) Mid- Year Bash Championship slated for Saturday, June, 15 at the Gymnasium Hall of the National Institute For Sports ( NIS), National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.

The championship which will be action filled will see America based Nigerian wrestler who doubles as the AIWF American Heavyweight Champion, HRH King Kizzy squaring up against African Heavyweight Champion, Jimmy Palm A.K.A De African Dream in a winner takes all fight while other mats men such as Mr. Sharpman, Power Vic, Eagle De Great Nail, 6.5 and Big Joe will also be in action.

Other wrestlers that will showcase their raw power and talent are; Major Ariba, Fred Rodrick and God’s Kid.

There will also be PWA Continental Women Middle Weight title fight between Liberian, Jenna Swift and Cameroonian, Vadex Pone.

According to the Secretary General of PWA Africa the sanctioning body that’s responsible for promoting Pro- Wrestling in Africa, Olusesan Olukoya, the championship is part of the organisation’s plan of further developing the mats man game in the continent.

He stated that the Mid- Year fight is just the beginning of the transformation which the body will bring to the sports just as he appealed to corporate organisations to rally round the body in it’s plan to not only make wrestling regain it’s number one status in sports in the country but to also help in producing world champions for the country

” I’m really excited that this championship is not only holding but the calibre of quality wrestlers that will entertain fans on Saturday.

” “Right now all arrangement has been put in place for a successful event and all the wrestlers including King Kizzy who will be coming from the United States of America are all ready to go and we’re just waiting for the event day.

” But it’s equally important I appeal to corporate Nigeria to extend their financial support to Pro Wrestling Africa ( PWA) in their efforts at developing professional wrestling not only in Nigeria but the entire African continent.

Meanwhile, the Cameroonian team for the championship have arrived the country.
The team led by the National President of the Cameroon Pro- Wrestling Federation (FECACATCH) who also doubles as the 1st Vice President of Pro- Wrestling Africa (PWA), the apex body overseeing professional wrestling in Africa, Air Force Commander Emmanuel Ndo, and that country’s sensational female wrestler, Vadex Pone arrived the country about two days ago.

Speaking on what to expect from his wrestler, Ndo noted that by the time she finishes with her Liberian opponent, the world will know that a new king of women wrestler has emerged in the continent.

Ndo who was impressed with the hospitality extended to them since arrival in the country declared that he will continue to do his utmost best to ensure that wrestling take it’s rightful place in Africa
