Oba ODUTALA Inter L/G Boys And Girls Soccer Tourney Underway In Ogun State

The sports loving monarch, HRH Alaiyeluwa (Oba) Adewunmi Adeniji Odutala the Onibudo of Aiyetoro-Budo, via Ota, Ado-Odo Ota Local Government, Ogun State Nigeria has hinted of his plans to organize an inter-local government soccer competition in boys and girls categories.

The rationale behind the tournament that is likely to come up in the first quarter of this year according to the royal father is to positively engage the youths in his neighborhood and scout for talents among them using the round leather game.
The proposed soccer tournament tagged: Oba Odutala Under-16 Boys and Under-19 Girls Unity Soccer Cup as explained by A Square Sports International, the body that will organize the tourney will be played among the grassroots clubs within the Ado-Odo Ota Local Government, Ogun State.
Oba Odutala who is reputed to always support any youths’ oriented program within his locality has also promised to offer educational scholarships to the talented players scouted from the tournament.
“I noticed that many young boys and girls are wasting their God’s given talents as they get shut out by unscrupulous coaches and agents thereby denying them the opportunity to play football to stardom. And it is obvious that many are hurting all over our nation by being denied legitimate opportunities to grow into football stars.
“My intention is to tackle this right from my domain so we can lay the foundation for the changes we would like to see happening in our grassroots football right from here and all over in Nigeria”, the monarch noted.
