Erasmus Onuh tips Abia Warriors to lift President Federation Cup
..Says he has been vindicated

Suspended handler of NPFL side, Abia Warriors, Coach Erasmus Onuh has expressed confidence that the team will lift this year’s President Federation Cup even as he declared that the team’s qualification for the finals has vindicated him.
Abia Warriors will on Saturday, June, 29, 2024 at the MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja meet former winners El-Kanemi Warriors of Maiduguri in the finals of this year’s FA Cup and Onuh believes that the boys from God’s Own state have the quality to lift the trophy
He told newstap.com.ng that he’s happy that the players he recruited before he was asked to step aside for no reason are the ones doing the magic noting that he’s wishing them well in the finals.
” I don’t have any doubt in my mind that Abia Warriors will emerge winners of this year’s Federation Cup because they have the quality, character and discipline to beat their opponent in the finals.
” My confidence is based on the fact that I recruited those players and know what they’re capable of doing.
“The players I signed for the team were tomorrow’s players and not today’s players. Their maximum age ranges from 26-27 years but not minding all these, some people never believed we were good and asked me to step aside.
” It will also interest you to know that I recruited cheap players whom I turned into a winning team within a short period of time. The money used to recruit one player in Enyimba will buy buy 20 players in my team while one player in Rivers United will buy 10 players in the team, yet I made adequate use of them but unfortunately my efforts were not appreciated.
On Abia Warriors performance in the Premier League, Onuh noted that a team which is 10th on the log could not be said to have performed badly and was quick to add that the good run of his players in both the league and FA Cup gives him joy not minding the decision of the club’s management not to fully appreciate his efforts.
Onuh while wishing the team well expressed hope that the players will put in their best in the finals and emerge winners of the most glamorous and oldest football competition in the country just as he stated that he doesn’t see El- Kanemi stopping them from lifting the coveted trophy.
