Madam Grace Bedford Goes Home In Style
Saturday, December, 27, 2015 will ever remain evergreen in the hearts of the residents of Okat, Onna Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.
It was the day friends, family members and well wishers gathered to give their last respect to late Madam Grace Bedford Akpan who was laid to rest at St. John’s Primary School.
Popularly known as Mma Teacher, she was born on February 26th, 1939, in Nung Idaha, Ikot Ayako and spent 86 years spreading love, knowledge, and inspiration to countless individuals.
As a devoted mother, teacher, and mentor, Mma Teacher touched the lives of many, including her son, Dr. Donald Ikpe, former Deputy Rector of Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic Ikot Osurua.
In a heartfelt tribute, Elder Dr. Donald Ikpe expressed gratitude, saying, “My happiness is that, from the time you were sick till you gave up the ghost, your children took excellent care of you. It was a befitting living that we gave you. God decided when it was time for you to rest with him. Farewell, my dear mother.”
The funeral service was attended by dignitaries, including Pastor Uwem Andrew-Essien, Accountant General of Akwa Ibom State; Dr. Akanimo, Rector Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic Ikot Osurua; Chief Ini Akpabio, former Chairman Akwa Ibom State Tourism Board and Archbishop Idem Ikon.
As we bid farewell to this extraordinary woman, we celebrate her life, legacy, and the impact she left on our world. May her soul rest in peace, and may her memory continue to inspire us all. Adieu, Mma Teacher.
