Nigeria’s match commissioners have launched Premium Trust Bank-powered new blazers as the new Nigeria Premier Football League season kicked off at the Moshood Abiola Sports Complex, Abeokuta on Friday.
Chairman of the NFF Match Commissioners Appointment Committee and Member of the NFF Executive Committee, Alhaji Babagana Kalli told thenff.com: “We want to express our gratitude to the President of Nigeria Football Federation, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau (MON) for facilitating the partnership with Premium Trust Bank, which has ensured a new look for all match commissioners in the country. We have already launched the new blazers during the first match of the new season, between Remo Stars FC and Rivers United FC, at the MKO Abiola Sports Complex in Abeokuta on Friday.”
Kalli, who is also a FIFA Match Commissioner, called on match commissioners to up the ante and bring on their best game in every single match of this year’s NPFL season, revealing that the crave for excellence by all is behind the activation of a situation room ahead of match-days.
“We have now created a situation room where we relate with all match commissioners two days before every match-day. The NPFL have now included some other things in their Rule Book and we use the ambience and opportunity of the situation room to reiterate these new rules to all match commissioners.
“To whom much is given, much is expected. After all the recent innovations and levels of encouragement, any match commissioner that is found wanting will only have him or herself to blame. There will be zero tolerance for sloppiness, indolence, indiscipline, and failure to operate along the lines of best practice going forward.”
