Mosturah Durosinlorun, Yusuf, Win Ist Haniel Hadison and Friends PSA Squad Championship
National Junior Squad player, Mosturah Durosinlorun and Yusuf Quadri at the weekend emerged champions of the first Haniel Hadison and Friends Professional Squash Association (PSA) Satellite U-19 men’s and Ladies Squash tournament held in Abuja.
Playing in the Ladies category,, high rising Mosturah Durosinlorun from Kwara state defeated Awawu Balogun ( Ogun State) 3-2 ( 3-11, 7-11, 11-4, 11-9, 11-7 ) , to emerge Champion in a game that lasted for 1 hr. 8 minutes
While Yusuf Quadri (Lagos state) beat Femi Shedara ( Edo state )3-1 ( 6-11, 11-4, 11-6, 115 ) to lift the men’s trophy in just 59 minutes in a tournament that has #500,000 prize money plus giant trophy for the men’s winner and #400,000 set aside for Ladies champion.
Speaking at the closing ceremony in Abuja, President of the Nigeria Squash Federation, Sunday Wilson Egberipou, solicited for the support of all stakeholders to support the Federation so that together they will take Nigeria Squash to the zenith.
Adding that the Federation has embarked on fund raising on how to get the #55 million budget for the 2026 World Junior Squash Championship in Canada and the 11thousand pound starling required for the registration in two weeks time
He praised the standard of the championship as exhibited by the players and advised them to always maintain the standard.
He revealed that the Federation has gotten multimillion Naira equipment to be distributed very soon as a selected team of technical officials have been directed to work with coaches for the distribution.
