Lagos set for Celebrity Global Mega Fight Concert

All is now set for the forthcoming Celebrity Global Mega Fight Concert slated for November 29- December 1, 2024 at the Queens Park Event Centre, Lagos.
Disclosing this during a world press conference to herald the event, Chief Executive Officer of Diamond Super Stars Promotions, Police Superintendent Lovethpatra Ekufu, convener of the event, explained that the concert is aimed at building international audience that will attract diverse cultures and tourism into the country.
Ekufu a two time Mixed Martial Arts ( MMA) and kickboxing champion, noted that the event comprises of three segments which includes business and cultural symposium, street to fame talent hunt, entertainment and sports.
“Our aim of staging this massive international concert is to build an international audience that will help to boost the tourism potentials of Nigeria.
” The symposium is in three segments; the first day will be a business leadership and cultural symposium where about 50 speakers from various parts of the world will be speaking with the aim of building international business leadership across the globe as well as promote the Nigerian and African economy.
” The second segment is the ‘Street to Fame Talent Hunt’. You know we have a lot of talents in this country, whether in sports, music, entertainment and arts and we want to bring them from the streets and nurture them to stardom
” What we want to achieve with the ‘Street For Talent Hunt’ is to transform it into a Mini-Olympics in no distant time where talents would be discovered globally and I promise you, it’s going to be an international event.
” And in the last segment, we’re going to have entertainment and sports. In this segment, we are bringing WWE wrestlers to come and fight in Nigeria. There will also be home based wrestlers fighting as well as boxing and kickboxing bouts. Celebrities will also be on ground to entertain the audience and so, it’s going to be action filled”, she stated
She noted that although she has not gotten any sponsor for the event but she is not discouraged from forging ahead even as she appealed for government at all levels and corporate Nigeria to be part of the show.
” What we’re doing is to enable high-profile individuals, top celebrities, and sports enthusiasts to connect and network and the project will create a community for all in the art, entertainment, fashion, sports and other industries. Although as I’m speaking to you now, I don’t have any sponsor but am forging ahead”, she stressed.

In their separate remarks at the well attended press briefing, President of Nigerian Boxing Board of Control ( NBB of C) Dr. Rafiu Oladipo, Secretary General of Pro- Wrestling Africa, Olusesan Olukoya and President of Kick Boxing Federation of Nigeria, Wilson Okon all took turns to eulogize her for the wonderful concept which they said will not only help in sports development but boosts the country’s tourism sector.
They however made a passionate appeal to both the Federal and State Governments as well as corporate organisations to support her in putting Nigerians name in good light
” It’s quite amazing that an individual is doing all these and she must be encouraged to succeed. Our appeal is that government at all levels including corporate organisations should support this Nigerian Ambassador to ensure that the project succeeds”, they chorused
Meanwhile, some of the expected guest speakers for the event who joined the press conference virtually from South Africa, Zimbabwe, Ghana, Kenya and United Kingdom commended Ekufu’s doggedness in planning the programme; saying they’re looking forward to come to Nigeria just as they appealed for financial support from Nigerians to make the event a huge success.
