Dada Alliu, Coach Bala Elected as Athletes and Technical Representatives on HFN Board
The election into the Athletes and Technical Representatives positions of the Handball Federation of Nigeria (HFN) was concluded on Monday at Velodrome of the Moshood Kashimawo Abiola National Stadium, Abuja with Dada Alliu Tale and Coach Bala Mohammed emerging victorious.
In the Athletes’ category, Dada Alliu Tale secured a convincing win, polling 27 votes against 8 votes garnered by his opponent and former Athlete Representative on the HFN board, Udale Joseph.
Meanwhile, in the Technical Representatives contest, Coach Bala Mohammed earned a resounding return to the board with 53 votes, comfortably defeating top IHF/CAHB Referee, Coach Moses Balogun, who polled 17 votes, while 3 votes were declared invalid.
The elections for Zonal Representatives and the Presidential seat will be conducted at a later date, as part of the phased election process to fully constitute the federation’s new board.
With the athletes’ and technical representatives now decided, attention will shift to the upcoming contests, which are expected to shape the direction of Nigerian handball for the next term.
