The President of Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF), Engr (Dr). Ahmadu Musa Kida, was on hand to bid the D’Tigress, the reigning African Champions, farewell, at their lush Double D Apartments in Abuja, as they depart for Abidjan, Cote’ D’ivoire, for the 2025 Afrobasket Championships.
He urged the team to go out there and show the stuff they are made of and try to bring home the trophy for an unprecedented 5th straight time, which will break the African record they currently hold.
Kida assured them that their teeming supporters, accross the country, are praying fervently for their success, and so they must be Nigeria’s good ambassadors as usual.
The team, who spoke through their captain, Amy Okonkwo, thanked Engr Kida and the NBBF Board for their relentless and untiring support given to the team and basketball over the recent years.
Stating how the Board have always met their needs at all times. They also expressed immense joy for the way that they have been received and treated since the start of their preparations for the championship.
