1st Ekwueme U-20 tourney: Moonluck FC, Flying Sports set for final showdown

Moonluck FC and Flying Sports Football Academy are the two teams that would be slugging it out in maiden edition of the Ifeanyi Ekwueme  Youth football tournament final slated to hold on August 5 at the First Bank training pitch in Satellite Town, Lagos.
Both teams were victorious in their respective games prior to the final as Moonluck fought hard to earn a well deserved 1-0 victory over First Bank FC of Lagos to set up a dream final against Festac Town based Flying Sports Football Academy. On the other hand, Flying Sports grabbed its ticket to the final after pipping 24 Carat FC 1-0.
Speaking ahead of the final, organizer of the tournament and former Super Eagles midfielder, Ifeanyi Ekwueme expressed satisfaction with the performances of all the players who took part in the tournament geared towards discovery of young football talents in all the nooks and crannies of the country.
Ekwueme who was recently named as Moonluck Football Academy ambassador stated this on the backdrop of the sterling performances of some of the youngsters in the tournament.
“I am really impressed with what I have so far seen in this tournament, ” Ekwueme noted, adding “the players general  performances are amazing. I am proud of the boys and I am encouraged. It’s an indication that this country is blessed with a lot of talented young players. Should they sustain the great performance, they will go places and excel in the near future.”
The stakes are high ahead of the eagerly anticipated final, with the winner not only afforded an opportunity to create history as the maiden edition champions, but to claim the prize money and ultimately earn a ticket to represent Nigeria in upcoming TICO-SELECT international Youth Tournament.
