NDSF Mourns the Passing of National Deaf Football Team Coach, Coach Kamiludeen Banjo
The Nigeria Deaf Sports Federation (NDSF) has expressed sorrow over the death of National Deaf Coach,
Kamiludeen Oladimeji Banjo.
Coach Banjo died on October, 9, 2025 after a brief illness.
In a condolence message by the Federation signed by it’s
Secretary General, Lukman Agbabiaka, it regrets the loss of the celebrated coach who led the team to many victories.
” The death of Coach Banjo came to us a rude shock. We’ re pained by the fact that he died when his services are mostly needed in the country.
” During his life time, he was a celebrated coach who led the ‘Deaf Eagles’ to significant victories including; West African Deaf Football Championship which the team won six times under his guidance, Deaflympics qualifications in 2009, 2013 and 2017, Africa Deaf Football Championship participation in 2020 and World Deaf Football Championship participation in 2023.
Coach Banjo started working with the Deaf Eagles in 2004 as an assistant coach and became the national coach in 2005. His dedication and expertise earned him recognition within the sports community.
The Federation while praying for the repose of his soul noted that with his death, the Deaf Sports community have lost a football tactician.
