10 year old Chibuike Oranye wins two gold medals for Anambra at NYG

Chibuike Oranye of Anambra won two gold medals in the Poomsae event at the ongoing 2023 National Youth Games in Asaba, Delta State.
In the boy’s category, Chibuike Oranye (Anambra) won gold, David Fatoye (Lagos) won silver while Greater Ukoha (Abia) and Martins Victor (FCT) settled for bronze medals.
Chibuike Oranye and Elechi Ogechi (Anambra) bagged gold medals, David Fatoye and Ganiyat Muhammed (Lagos) won silver while Greater Ukoha and Gabriel Uchechi (Abia) and Emmaries Chukwudubem and Josephine Onyeka (Delta) won bronze in the Poomsae pair event.
Oranye told newstap.com.ng that  he feels good winning two gold medals for his stat
The 10-year-old player said his father introduced him to Taekwondo and handed him over to coach Jude Nwafor.
“My father introduced me to Taekwondo because my mother used to represent Anambra in the Long Jump event at the championship; they noticed I have talents in sports and my parents handed me to coach Jude Nwafor to handle me properly.
“Before joining Taekwondo, I was just going to school and working at home; wasting my God-given talent,” he said.
“I felt good when I heard Anambra won two gold medals in the Poomsae event; my coach told me to calm down in order to win the medal and it worked for me,” the 10-year-old National Youth Games champion concluded.

Silver- David Fatoye (Lagos)

Bronze- Greater Ukoha (Abia)

Bronze- Martins Victor (FCT)

Winners of Female Poomsae:

Gold- Yemi Andrew (Plateau)

Silver- Ganiyat Muhammed (Lagos)

Bronze- Elechi Ogechi (Anambra)

Bronze- Unique Umeh (FCT)

Winners of Poomsae Pair:

Gold- Chibuike Oranye and Elechi Ogechi (Anambra)

Silver- David Fatoye and Ganiyat Muhammed (Lagos)

Bronze- Greater Ukoha and Gabriel Uchechi (Abia)
