The Nigeria Football Federation has commiserated with the Governor of Zamfara State, Alhaji Dauda Lawal Dare, the President of NFF, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau and the entire people of Zamfara State on the death of the Emir of Gusau, Dr. Ibrahim Bello.
Emir Ibrahim Bello was reported to have passed on in the early hours of Friday at an undisclosed private hospital in Abuja.
In separate letters signed by the NFF General Secretary, Dr Mohammed Sanusi (MON), the NFF saw reason to “celebrate the life and times of the late Dr. Ibrahim Bello, who was a bastion of preservation of the reassuring culture and enviable traditional values of the people of Zamfara State, and who worked tirelessly to ensure peace and tranquility, and for the sustained growth and development of Zamfara State and beyond.
“Certainly, we loved him. But Almighty Allah loves him much more. And we must take solace in the fact that the late Emir Ibrahim Bello left his very bold footprints in the sands of time, as a much-loved leader of his people and a dignified custodian of culture and tradition.”
The football-ruling body also mourned with its President, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau (MON), who is a traditional title-holder of the Gusau emirate.
“As a traditional title-holder of the Gusau Emirate Council, we understand and appreciate that this is a solemn moment for you, even as you go about fulfilling your huge responsibilities as the leader of Nigeria football and of West African Zone B Football, and a Member of the Organizing Committee of the African Nations Championship that commences in a few days’ time.”
