Clubs campaigning in the 2025/26 season in the Nigeria National League (NNL)will this Tuesday undergo a two-day mid-season retreat at the Remo Sports Complex, Ikenne, Ogun State.
The 36 clubs under the National League Club Owners Management Association (NACOLMA) as well the governing body of the second-tier under the leadership of George Aluo will take a post-mortem of the first half of the season.
This review is expected to shape the direction of the ‘second most important league’ in the country ahead of the remaining part of the season.
Officiating, clubs’ conduct and players’ performance will be X-rayed as the league hopes to continue attracting sponsorship with it’s rising positive perception.
According to the Chairman Aluo, the retreat is a critical activity strategic to the progress gained at the end of the first stanza of the league.
“It’s important to take a pause and bring every key component in running of the NNL to converge at a conducive place like the impressive Remo Stars Sports Complex where we can take a thorough look back at the progress we have made and then look forward to plugging every loophole and every surmounting challenges ahead of the concluding part of the season.
‘We have to commend all our partners and sponsors and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for their strong support in driving the NNL to the level we are” he said.
NFF President Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau is expected to declare the retreat open. Ogun State sports commissioner would grace the event as special guest.
