Top young athletes selected from all 18 Local Government Areas of Cross River State have arrived Calabar for final screening ahead of the Niger Delta Games tagged ‘Edo 2026’.
The screening camp, organized by the Cross River State Sports Commission in collaboration with the Niger Delta Games Liaison Committee, is holding at the U.J. Esuene Stadium from January 21–23, 2026.
The Chairman of the Sports Commission, Hon. Etta Lawrence, assured the athletes of a well-structured and welfare-friendly camp, noting that only the best athletes will make the final team.
The athletes commended the NDDC and Dunamis Icon for supporting the initiative, describing it as a major boost for grassroots sports development.
The camp is marked by high morale and optimism as Cross River State prepares a strong contingent for the Games.
