Niger, Mali, Burkina Faso intelligence agencies to expose Nigerian politicians aiding militants

Intelligence agencies in Niger Republic, Burkina Faso, and Mali are set to expose top Nigerian politicians who are aiding militants terrorizing the country.
According to DW, a German news agency, these foreign intelligence agencies already have the names of the politicians financing militants and selling weapons to them and are preparing to expose their identities.
The news agency further noted that some of these politicians have been arrested and investigations into their illegal activities have commenced.
Nigeria has been grappling with insecurity for decades. There have been allegations of politicians sponsoring armed groups.
The Governor of Borno State, Babagana Zulum, alleged that some politicians and members of the armed forces act as informants and collaborators for Boko Haram insurgents in May.
“We have informants and collaborators within the Nigerian armed forces, among politicians, and within the communities,” said Zulum.
In August, Nigeria’s Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa, vowed to expose the identities of terrorism supporters.
There have been calls for the release of the names of the financiers of terrorism over the years. The Defence Chief noted that the process is ongoing. He added that some legal issues have impeded the process.
“I think the process is on. It has to do with a lot of legal issues, and because again, it has to do with international connections,” said General Musa.
