National Chairman of Nigeria Football Supporters Club, Rev. Amb. Samuel Ikpea has charged newly inducted members of the club to be patriotic and disciplined even as he reminded them that the club does not promote tribal, religious, or political sentiments.
He gave the advise Wednesday, October, 1, 2025 during the induction of new members held at the National Secretariat of the Club at Funsho Williams Avenue, Barracks Bus Stop, Ojuelegba, Lagos.
According to him, the club which was rated by both FIFA and CAF as the best supporters club in the world is a reflection of the unity of the country and as such they must see themselves as people of one family irrespective of tribe, religion or political believe.
” As you’re inducted today into the foremost Supporters Club in the country, I want to remind you that here, we don’t practice tribal, religious or political sentiments. We see everybody as one and that accounts for the reason why we sing all songs be it; Igbo, Yoruba, Hausa, Ibibio, Kalabari, Edo, Tiv, Igbira, Christian or Muslim songs and when we sing these songs, everyone is at the same pace”, he admonished.
“It’s also important to remind you that there’s no room for indiscipline in the club. When provoked, you can only argue and not fight because fighting and indiscipline attracts severe penalty which can lead to expulsion from the club and as a one united family, I urge you to make patriotism your watchword.
Ikpea also told the new inductees to count themselves lucky to pass the vigorous screening of the club to be among those admitted during the 70th anniversary of the club and 65th independence celebration of the country, noting that he expects them to carry the gospel of unity and patriotism of the club to anywhere they go in the country
High point of the induction was the swearing in of the new members and their decoration with the club’s regalia.
A total of 44 new members were inducted at the impressive ceremony which attracted their friends and well wishers
