Nigeria, South Africa open up diplomatic talks ahead World Cup clash

The Minister Plenipotentiary in the High Commission of the Republic of South Africa to Nigeria, Her Excellency Lindi Mminele on Monday paid a courtesy visit to the Secretariat of Nigeria Football Federation in Abuja. On hand to receive her were the NFF General Secretary, Dr Mohammed Sanusi (MON); Director of Communications, Dr Ademola Olajire; Head of Protocol, Mr. Emmanuel Ayanbunmi and; Protocol Officer, Prince Bamaiyi Usman.
Discussions centred round the issue of entry visa into the Republic of South Africa for members of the Nigeria delegation to the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match between Nigeria and South Africa, in Bloemfontein on Tuesday, 9th September 2025.
