Nigerian boxer, Mbata inches closer to Olympic qualification

Sensational Nigerian boxer, Patricia Mbata is one win away from qualifying for the women’s Olympic Games in Paris, France.
The United Kingdom based pugilist defeated Brazil’s Vivianne Pareira 4-1 early Saturday in the round of 16 at the ongoing final Olympics qualifying series in Bangkok, Thailand.
The split decision win in the 75kg class, means Mbata needs one more victory in the quarter- final to book a place to the Paris Games.
Another Nigerian Zainab fighting in the 50 kg , Adeshina who defeated Liberia’s Grace Fanbhulleh yesterday to progress will face Jordanian Hannan Nasser who won a majority decision against Marjona Savrieva of Azerbaijan will also square up against
Both Mbata and Adeshina are the two remaining Nigerian boxers in the Thai qualifying.
The qualification series ends Sunday, 2nd June.
