Nigerian judoka, Joseph David intensifies training ahead AAG, Olympics

Ahead of the African Games and Olympics both scheduled for 8 March and 26 July 2024 respectively, the Nigerian 100+ KG judoka, Joseph David Damilare has intensified his preparations towards making a good representation for Nigeria.
Despite the anticipated fierce contests, the very promising Judoka who won silver medal for team Nigeria at the 2023 US Open Judo Championship held in Florida USA is confident he will maintain his fine form and land at least a medal for Nigeria at the African Games in Ghana and Olympics next year.
He said, “I feel so privileged that out of many judokas in Nigeria, I happen to be one of the athletes that will represent Nigeria at the events. I will maintain my fine form with the level of training I’m undergoing in preparation for the next championship and with God by my side I will surely triumph.”
The African Union (AU), the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (ANOCA) and the Association of African Sports Confederations (AASC) has confirmed again that the quadrennial event will now take place in March of 2024, remaining in the host city of Accra, Ghana.
The President of Nigeria Judo Federation Dr. Musa Oshodi has also expressed optimism in the ability of Joseph towards making good representation for the country, hinging his confidence on his recent fantastic performance.
Joseph David has good records of representing Nigeria at the TIJCO International Judo Championships Cotonou Benin from 18-22 July 2013 and in 2019, 12th All African Games in Rabat Morocco where he won medals.
For Oyo State where he is based, he had won National Sports Festival gold medals back to back in Abuja, Edo and Delta State respectively.
