One player who stole the show and won the heart of fans at the just concluded Gov Otti NNL pre season tournament is Prosper Chinedu.
Chinedu, 14 manned the post for Uchecaria FC an Aba based academy side that was invited to be part of the tournament.
The teenage goaltender was so good in between the sticks that some fans said he was not manning the post alone but with the support of the Holy Spirit…(the young keeper was wearing his Rosary on his neck).
In the game against Edel FC he pulled several stupendous saves that saw his side not conceding in the first 45 minutes.
Apparently impressed with the keeper’s performance, Abia Comets chairman Boniface Uche presented him with a special award and a token.
Uche noted that the upcoming keeper would go places if well nurtured, even as he added that Prosper is the revelation of the tournament.
“I m happy this tournament has lived up to it’s billing. Apart from preparing NNL teams for the league which starts later this month it has afforded us the opportunity of seeing this young talent. I want to say a big thank you to Gov Otti for sponsoring the tournament,” Boniface Uche stated.
