Chairman of the Nigeria National League (NNL), Mr. George Aluo ,was on Saturday November 16, 2024 honoured with the Sports Administrator of the year Award by the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Imo State Chapter.
The event marking the end of the 2024 SWAN Week for the chapter was held at the Rock View, hotel Owerri the state capital.
The Chapter Chairman Mr. Cosmos Chukwuemeka said George Aluo was deserving of the award based on his impact since assuming the helm of affairs at the Most Important League in the country.
“We took particular notice of the recent improvement in the NNL and as an indigene of the state there is no better person more suitable for the crown than him.”
“We are very proud of him as a son of the soil and as a veteran journalist we are also delighted that he has not disappointed us.”
Responding, the NNL boss expressed gratitude to Imo SWAN for deeming him fit for the recognition.
“I do not know that our little effort at NNL has been noticed. We thank the Nigeria Football Federation led by President Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau for giving us the platform and my hard working board members at NNL and the entire staff for their cooperation.
To God be the glory. We are spurred to do more to ensure we improve the league.”
