NNL: Crown Fc Escape Relegation, As Abia Comets Goes Down To NLO
The 2025/2026 season of Conference A of the Nigeria National League (NNL) , ended Saturday, 11, April, 2026 with interesting results.
While Crown Fc of Ogbomosho, escaped relegation by the whiskers, Abia Comets were not lucky as they were relegated to the Nation One League ( NLO).
Although Crown Fc lost by 1-0 to Heartland of Owerri on matchday 18 at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, but the 3-1 defeat of Abia Comets by Smart City of Lagos, ensured that the Ajilete warriors will be part of next year’s second tier League.
Abia Comets who needed at least a draw to escape the drop were not too impressive at the Legacy Pitch of the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos, allowing their hosts to dominate all departments of the game, thereby joining Gateway Fc of Abeokuta to drop to the Nation One League.
In the other results of the conference, Sunshine Stars defeated Edel Fc 2-1 while already promoted Inter Lagos lost 1-2 to Gateway.
