President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu will today, Tuesday, February, 13, 2024 receive the Super Eagles of Nigeria at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa after their second-placed finish at the 2023 African Nations Cup in Cote D’Ivoire.
The hosts, the Elephants of Cote D’Ivoire on Sunday night defeated Nigeria 2-1 in Abidjan to lift the AFCON trophy for the third time leaving Nigeria with a silver medal for the fifth time.
The Vice President, Kassim Shetima watched the Super Eagles Semi-final match against South Africa last Wednesday and led a high powered Federal Government delegation to the final match on Sunday.
Super Eagles players who arrived late Monday night will depart for their various clubs and will re-assemble next month for the World Cup qualifiers.
