NNL Honours NFF President Ibrahim Gusau for Outstanding Support to Domestic Football

The Nigeria National League (NNL) on Wednesday honoured the President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau, with a special award in recognition of his steadfast support for the growth and development of Nigeria’s second-tier football league.
The presentation took place in Abuja during the May and June editions of the NNL Awards, a monthly ceremony that highlights the achievements of outstanding players, coaches, teams, and key stakeholders who have contributed meaningfully to the league.
According to the NNL, the award was given to acknowledge Alhaji Gusau’s instrumental role in strengthening domestic football structures and promoting grassroots development through consistent collaboration and support.
Speaking at the event, NNL Chief Operating Officer Danlami Alanana praised the NFF President’s leadership, describing it as a driving force behind the league’s recent progress.
“Alhaji Gusau has provided unwavering support and fatherly guidance to the Nigeria National League. His commitment has played a vital role in the transformation we are witnessing at this level of football,” Attah stated.
The NNL Awards initiative is part of the league’s broader strategy to incentivize performance, foster accountability, and build a stronger connection between government authorities and football institutions nationwide.
Gusau’s recognition marks a significant endorsement of his tenure as NFF President, particularly in his efforts to uplift domestic football and enhance the visibility and competitiveness of the NNL.
