The Chairman of the Nigeria National League ( NNL), Mr. George Aluo has commended the centre referee and his assistants who handled the Match Day 3 game between Sporting Supreme of Abuja and Gombe United.
The match played Friday at the Bwari Stadium, Abuja ended goalless and Aluo was happy with the near perfect and unbiased handling of the match by the centre referee, Lawal Jibrin Abdulwahab of Katsina State and his two assistants; Musa Bajaj from Niger State and Aminu Ibrahim from Katsina State; saying that their composure and good handling of the match is worthy of commendation just as he urged other referees to emulate them.

According to Aluo, if matches in NNL which is the Most Important League in the country and other leagues could be handled the way the trio handled the above mentioned game, no team will complain of bad officiating.
“I want to give kudos to them for the professionalism they exhibited in handling the match. They were not intimidated by any of the teams neither did they allow emotion affect their decisions which is what we need from referees.
“All the decisions they took were perfect and even when the Coach of Sporting Supreme complained unnecessarily, the center referee gave him a straight red card which was applauded by all. And the good thing was that at the end of the game both teams were satisfied with the officiating”, Aluo stressed.
He advised them to continue with their good work, noting that with referees like them, Nigerian football will move forward.
