Unspeakable joy as Lagos FA boss pays visit to AAFCON bound Special Eagles


The Chairman of Lagos State Football Association, Hajji Gafar Liameed, Thursday, May, 16, 2024, paid a personal visit to the Amputee National team known as ‘Special Eagles’ during their training at the Mainbow of the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos. 

The Special Eagles who would be representing Nigeria at the African Amputee Football Cup Of Nations (AA FCON), in Cairo, Egypt, were very delighted to receive Hajji Liameed, as the players and officials exuded unspeakable joy and happiness over the visit. 

During the visit which ostensibly, was to encourage and support the team, Liameed restated the commitment of Lagos FA to continue with its all-inclusive administration, which includes development of football in all ramifications, as well as, providing enabling environment to budding footballers and thereby attracting and encouraging potential investors to the game in Lagos State.

Hajji Liameed praised the resilience, zest and patriotism of the team, despite their apparent challenges.

“This is a group of committed and dedicated Nigerians. They never see their physical challenges as obstacles. They just keep smiling, they just keep going and they just keep playing football,” he remaked.

He went ahead to praise the team coaches, Gbenga Dosunmu and Victor Nwenwe, for raising a talented team,  that he enthuses would make Nigeria proud at this year’s AAFCON.
