Northern Coordinator of SESC pays homage to new NSC Chairman
The Northern Oordinator of the Super Eagles Supporters Club on Thursday paid a courtesy visit to the new chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Mallam Shehu Dikko, in his office to felicitate with him on behalf of the SESC.
Alhaji Abdulkadir, chairman of the Kano State chapter of SESC, and Alhaji Umar Shehu, the chairman of the Plateau State chapter, who doubled as the Northern Coordinator of SESC, visited NSC to fashion a smooth working relationship.
Speaking during the visit, Alhaji. Umar said the President must be applauded for identifying many anomalies in the Nigerian sports’ sector and correcting it by appointing an experienced and qualified person.
“This appointment is the best thing that the President has done for our sports. This sector has suffered a lot due to the caliber of people appointed as Ministers in the past.
“Most of them come and start learning on the job. Some of them had never even seen a live football match before, yet they were made to oversee sports.”
He, however, on behalf of the President and Founder of the Super Eagles Supporters Club, Prince Vincent Okumagba, pledged the support of the body to Mallam Shehu Dikko and assured him of a good working relationship, especially towards ensuring that the Super Eagles qualify for the next FIFA World Cup.
“I have no doubt in my mind that Dikko will excel. He knows exactly what to do and has a track record of success in the industry,” he added.
