USA based patron of Enugu Rangers, Benson Ezeomeogo Ejindu has called for reforms in Nigeria Football following Super Eagles failure to reach Qatar for the FIFA World Cup.
Ejindu who said he is still in shock over the defeat suffered in the hands of Ghana said Nigeria has no basis not making it to Qatar.
He blamed the failure on the way football is administered in the country.
He noted that given the avalanche of talents the country boasts of, qualifying for the World Cup should be the nation’s birth right.
“Just like Brazil, Nigeria has got the players. All that is lacking is how to harness them. This is why I am calling for a reform of how we run the game.”
Ejindu (MVP) whose financial support helped the nation’s Dream Team to do well at the Rio 2016 Olympics (Siasia’s team won bronze) said football is suffering in the hands of a few cabal insisting that has to change if we must get results at the global stage.
