NSC will prioritize collaborations for greater sports development, says Dikko

Premier sports solutions organization, SWA Sports, has pledged full support to the National Sports Commission’s (NSC) and its lofty vision under the leadership of Shehu Dikko.

Dikko welcomed the SWA Sports delegation during their courtesy visit on Wednesday to his office led by the organization’s President and Founder, Mrs. Aisha Shuaibu.

Mrs. Shuaibu expressed SWA Sports’ commitment to collaborating with the NSC to achieve its vision, saying, “We want to collaborate with the NSC and the chairman to ensure his vision is realized, to bring Nigerian sports back to its glorious days and make it even better. We must develop our sports ecosystem, improve infrastructure, and foster collaboration.

Dikko, in turn, praised SWA Sports for their initiative in organizing one of Nigeria’s foremost sports business conference in Abuja earlier this year.

“It’s a welcome development, and SWA Sports’ mission clearly aligns with the objectives of the NSC. Beyond sports development, we aim to create a thriving sports economy,” Dikko said, adding that “the commission is open to partnering with SWA to attract more investors into the sports sector.”

He emphasized the need for private sector engagement, noting, “Private sector investors need to understand the opportunities and benefits of investing in sports. We would be honored to partner on any opportunity to grow our sports industry.”

In April, SWA Sports hosted the “2024 Sports as a Business” Conference, which brought private and public sector leaders together in Abuja to chart a new path for sports business in Nigeria, marking an important step forward in sports development.
