NSF 2025: SWAN sends SOS to Governor Uzodimma over Imo contingents

Barely three days to the commencement of 2025 National Sports Festival, NSF in Abeokuta capital of Ogun State, the camp of Imo contingents seems to be in low spirit as the State Government is said not to have released the needed fund for the sporting fiesta.
This delay in the release of fund to the contingents has prompted Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN Imo State Chapter to resolve in there May monthly congress asking Governor Hope Uzodimma to please do the needful with military dispatch
The press statement endorsed by Messrs. Cosmos Chukwuemeka and Tunde Liadi, the Association’s Chairman and Secretary respectively frowned at the delay in releasing the money to enable TEAM IMO hit the ground running in Ogun State for the Festival,Nigeria’s Olympic events billed to commence on Sunday.
The Association also harped on the provision of quality and standard facilities to replace delapidated ones for Imo athletes to excel at Sports competitions.
They however, commended both the State athletes and officials for their efforts and commitment to excel at the Festival.
The Association also recalled that the State had recorded poor outings at the last three Festivals and charged the State Government to invest more on Sports.
