Former Secretary General of Nigeria Triathlon Union, Gloria Obajimi has been appointed VIce President of Confederation of African Triathlon Union.
The appointment was made during the African Delegates meeting at the recently concluded World Triathlon Congress held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
In his congratulatory message, life President of Nigeria Triathlon Union Dr. Lanre Glover described the appointment as a welcome development noting that Obajimi being a seasoned Sports administrator will bring her experience to bear in moving the Sports forward in the continent.
” We at the Federation are happy with the appointment. Obajimi has been involved in sports administration for a very long time and has contributed immensely in developing the sports in NIgeria and as a seasoned sports administrator, the continent stand to benefit immensely from her wealth of experience in moving the game of Triathlon forward in the continent “, he said.
Gloria Obajimi PHD was a sprinter in her hay days and participated as the country’s top sprinter at 1980 Moscow Olympic Games.
She was also a former Registrar and acting Director of National Institute For Sports ( NIS) Lagos.
With this latest appointment, NTU has at least regained it’s position in the Executive Committee level of the continental body.
