Ohaneze chieftain inducted as NFSC national patron

The Nigeria Football Supporters (NFSC) on Wednesday decorated Chief Solomon Aguene, President, Ohaneze Ndigbo, Lagos State Chapter, as its National Patron.

His decoration came as more eminent Nigerian personalities from across the country have consistently expressed the desire to identify with Nigeria’s foremost football supporters club.

Decorating Aguene with the club’s paraphernalia in his office in Lagos, the ebullient National Chairman of NFSC, Rev. Samuel Ikpea, said he never doubted the positive strides the new National Patron would bring into the club.
“Chief Aguene, it is hoped that your success story in the business world and your leadership qualities as well as the wisdom in piloting the affairs of your people (Ndigbo) in Lagos will come to bear on our darling club,’’ he said.

Reacting to the honour, the Ebonyi state born highly successful businessman said his entrance as the club’s National Patron would usher in a new era for the club, especially football supporter-ship.

“I m very happy and proud to associate with the foremost Nigeria football supporters club. I have been a distant admirer of this noble club; but today, I have become a patron of this club and no longer a distant admirer but a stakeholder. My entrance will witness tremendous impact and mileage for the club and football as a sport in Nigeria,’’ Aguene said.

A long time football enthusiast, he was surrounded by his friends and business associates, at the colorful event.
