Oliseh, Ogunowo, nine others to receive prestigious FUBF awards

Barrister Churchill Oliseh, Olushola Ogunnowo (COO of NLO), and nine other remarkable football administrators will be celebrated at today’s 7th anniversary of FUBF Day event at Halatria Hotel, in Osogbo, Osun State.

Family United By Football (FUBF), a prominent Nigerian sports advocacy group, is set to honor these 11 football personalities as the football season comes to a close.

Tunde Shamsudeen, the FUBF Coordinator, emphasized the significance of this occasion:

“This year has been transformative for sports in Osun State, and those who have made substantial contributions to the game deserve not just recognition but prestigious awards.

“This initiative serves as motivation for continued excellence; we are committed to ensuring it is not merely a one-off event.

“Football demands substantial investment, and while government support is crucial, it is equally important for private individuals to step up. With the right leadership from football administrators, we can unlock the full potential of this billion-dollar industry, especially with the wealth of emerging talent in Nigeria.

“For this year’s FUBF Day, Barrister Rotimi Alli will be the guest speaker, addressing stakeholders on crucial Legal & Ethical Issues in Modern Football, including image rights, betting integrity, and conflict-of-interest management.”

The recipients of this esteemed award include: Barrister Churchill Oliseh, the President of a leading football academy recognized for its pivotal role in nurturing talent for Nigeria’s national male teams, has been acknowledged for his exceptional commitment through FC Ebedei.

Olushola Ogunnowo, the Chief Operating Officer of Africa’s largest grassroots league, is being honored for his visionary leadership and relentless drive in elevating the Nationwide League One (NLO) as the cornerstone of Nigerian football development.

Mayor Sola Fanawopo, Chairman of the Osun FA, receives recognition for his exemplary service as a football administrator.

Alhaji. Olayiwola Olafiranye, a dedicated philanthropist, is celebrated for his profound impact on society and his invaluable contributions to sports development in Osun State.

Famomi Ayomide Kolawole, President of AAYK FC, will be commended for his significant humanitarian efforts and substantial role in advancing football in Osun State.

Isaac Adesiyan, President of HMK FC, is recognised for his positive impact and essential contributions to football development in the region.

Odeyemi Muhydeen Oladele, President of Hammola FC, is honored for his unwavering humanitarian contributions and his role in advancing football in Osun State.

Coach Olatunji Baruwa MON, a former Super Eagles goalkeeping coach and current coach at Nasarawa United, is acknowledged for his relentless dedication and influential contributions to football development in Osun State.

Chief Ademola Adeshina, ex-international, former Coach, and Chairman of Osun United, is celebrated for his significant and impactful contributions to football.

Abayomi Amoo, the custodian of Osun Football and Osun FA Secretary, receives recognition as a top-tier football administrator.

Mr. Ademola Daini, General Manager of the Osun State Sports Council, will be honoured for his outstanding leadership and transformative efforts in promoting sports throughout Osun State.

Today’s event will not only celebrate these individuals but also reaffirm the commitment to the growth and excellence of football in Nigeria
