Olukoya to lead other inductees to AIWF Hall of Fame 2026
Secretary General of Pro- Wrestling Africa ( PWA), Olusesan Olukoya will next year lead other nominees to the United States for their induction into the Allied Independent Wrestling Federation ( AIWF) Hall of Fame.
The other nominees are; Rev. Samuel Ikpea of Nigeria and Cdt. Emmanuel Ndo of Cameroon.
A statement from.the organisation’s head office at Mount Airy, North Carolina, USA, said that Olukoya was chosen because of his track record in championing the development of wrestling in African continent and beyond.
The statement further disclosed that Olukoya who also doubles as President of AIWF Africa has ensured that the wrestling body approve training sessions and affiliate with local Federation’s, like Benin Republic as well as organized several wrestling events.
The AIWF is one of the world bodies that ensures training and skill development in wrestling, they sponsor or give approval to training sessions and last year, it approved a wrestling training session in Cotonou, Benin Republic for West African wrestlers from Nov 16-17, 2024 under AIWF Africa / PWA supervision.
The body also promote Events/Championships: For instance, they co-organized the Mid-Year Pro Wrestling Championship in Lagos in December 2023, which involved wrestlers from Nigeria, United States, Ghana, Liberia, Cameroon.
Apart from approval of wrestling trainings, it also sanction or oversee certain title events (e.g. “AIWF Africa’s heavyweight championship fight in France in December 2024 and AIWF light heavyweight title fight in Yaoundé, Cameroon in May 2025).
As a body that’s serious about the development of wrestling, AIWF has Affiliation with Local Federations a d partner with national/regional wrestling federations (e.g. Beninoise Pro Wrestling Federation, Cameroon Pro Wrestling Federation, Togo Catch, Ghana Pro Wrestling Federation, Botswana Pro Wrestling Federation and Zimbabwe Pro Wrestling Federation etc.) amongst others.
Speaking on his nomination, Olukoya commended the board of AIWF for finding him worthy to be honoured, pledging that he will continue to do more for the development of the mats man game.
” I’m highly excited to be considered worthy for nomination as Hall of Famer of AIWF which to me is a great privilege. It shows that they appreciate what I am doing and award will spur me to do more for the development of the sport.
