Covid-19 knocks out AFCON

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has cancelled next year’s African Cup of Nations (AFCON) billed for Cameroon, no thanks to Coronavirus.

CAF at its meeting today opted to move the competition to 2022 with Cameroon retaining the hosting right.

This year’s CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup that is at the semi final stage would be decided over one leg in Cameroon and Morocco. Details of CAF’s decision would be made available to the different soccer federations later today. CAF it would be noted had last week issued medical guidelines on how Football would return in the continent amidst the Coronavirus pandemic.
