Owerri North Youths drum support for Uzodimma’s 2nd tenure ambition

Barely one week to the commencement of the INEC scheduled governorship election campaign in Imo State for this November 11th, Senator Hope Uzodimma’s second tenure gubernatorial re-election ambition has received a serious boost, as youths of Owerri North Local Government Area of the state under the auspices of Shared Prosperity Youth Movement are drumming support for the Governor’s re-election bid.

Comrade Leonard Maduagwu, the Coordinator of Shared Prosperity Youth Movement of the council area disclosed this on Thursday to newsmen shortly after their well attended executive meeting held at Awka, the conference mini hall of All Progressive Congress, APC, Owerri North Secretariat.

Maduagwu who described Senator Uzodimma as “Mr. Capacity and youths friendly governor” emphatically said that the youths of Owerri North LGA are impressed with the good works of the Governor both at the council areas and the State at large and therefore deserve a second tenure.

The Coordinator pointed out their plans to organized youths of the council area for a town hall mobilisation and sensitization meeting, the essence being to galvanized the youths into supporting and campaigning the Governor’s second tenure bid.

According to him, “this is the first time, we are having a Governor who’s youths friendly and sensitive to the well being of his people. The truth is that, our commitment in supporting that the Governor is re-elected is borne out of the conviction that he has patriotically transformed and repositioned Imo State.

“He has shown visionary and purposeful governance as justified by his giant strides and institutionalized legacy projects and programmes. He has created job opportunities for Imo youths and many of them have been empowered through skills acquisition and professional trainings. Honestly, his government is compassionate, inclusive and welfare oriented” he assured.

The youthful politician applauded the Governor for revolutionizing the council area’s road networks citing the ongoing construction and rehabilitation of the roads from Toronto to Uzoagba community and the major road from Fire Service Whethral Road to Umuahia, Abia State capital.

Maduagwu passionately appealed to the Governor on the need to hasten actions to ensure earliest completion of works on the Awka Road Safety Junction to Naze Poly Junction because of its socioeconomic importance to the people.

He advised Imo State electorates to throw their weights behind the efforts in ensuring the consolidation of the gains of the Shared Prosperity and 3R administrative mantra governance of Senator Hope Odidika Uzodimma by ensuring he is returned for the second tenure in office.

The Coordinator further enjoined the Governor not to relent in his developmental agenda and initiatives while commending, His Royal Majesty, Eze (Dr) David Akujobi Osuagwu Ezikoche 11 of Awaka Ancient Town And Chairman Imo State Traditional Institution Community Policing, Owerri Zone and HRH Eze Boniface Ariri, Eze Udo 1 of Obibi Uratta.

Others include Hon. Kelechi Azuwuike, the APC Owerri North Chairman, Sir Jude Ejiogu, former Chief of Staff and Secretary to Government of Imo State, Chief Lemmy Akakem (Okpataozuoha) and Dr. Anthony Iheduru, the first Executive Chairman of the council area for their tremendous support to the movement and enjoined other stakeholders in the council area for further financial and logistics assistance.
