Babayaro thumbs up IMC as Super 6 ends tomorrow

By George Aluo

Commendations have continued to come the way of the league’s Interim Management Committee (IMC) as the season ending Super 6 is rounded up tomorrow at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Lagos.

The latest of the thumbs up is coming from ex international, Celestine Babayaro who is full of praise for the Gbenga Elegbeleye led league body for changing the face of the nation’s domestic league.

Hear Babayaro…” I am happy with the tremendous change in the league… everything has changed since IMC took over… Gbenga and his team have brought joy to the faces of fans…and I am not surprised because I know who Gbenga is right from his days as the Director General of the defunct National Sports Commission. As DG, I saw the way he did things and I knew the league would have a different face under him. Mark my words, under him the NPFL would be recognized not just in Nigeria but the whole of Africa and the world.”

The NPFL season is billed to end tomorrow with the crucial 7 pm clash involving defending champions Rivers United and Enyimba.

The winners would smile home with N100m prize money.
