Para powerlifting: Philomena Edomwandagbon gives team Edo first Gold medal

Team Edo Saturday recorded it’s first gold medal at the ongoing Niger Delta Games

Philomena Edomwandagbon. gave the host state something to cheer about in para power lifting

She won the medal after powering 115kg load as Rivers took silver with 87kg weight while the Ronze goes to Imo after lifting 82kg weight.

An excited Philomena speaking after recording a podium finish at the Games noted that she was happy winning the first gold medal for her state just as she expressed optimism that the gold medal will propel other athletes of the state to go for podium finish and ensure that the state emerges the overall winner of the Games.

” I am very happy to win gold for my state because I contested against good lifters but am happy, I was able to make it at the end.

“I know that my victory will propel my team mates to go for victory because we want to be the overall winner of the Games at the end of hostilities
