Paris 2024 boxing qualifiers : Adeshina Zainab, one fight away to Olympic ticket

Another Nigerian female boxer, Adeshina Zainab has joined Patricia Mbata to qualify for the quarter-finals of the ongoing ‘Boxing Road to Paris 2024’ Olympic Games qualifiers in Bangkok, Thailand.

Fighting in the 50 kg weight category, she recorded a 3-2 split decision victory over Jordanian, Nassar Hanan to qualify for the quarter-finals of the highly competitive event.

Sensational Nigerian boxer, Patricia Mbata is one win away from qualifying for the women’s Olympic Games in Paris, France.

It would be recalled that United Kingdom based Nigerian pugilist, Patricia Mbata early Saturday defeated Brazil’s Vivianne Pareira 4-1 in the round of 16 to qualify for the quarter-finals.

A win for both boxers in the quarter-finals, qualifies them for the Olympic Games.

Both Mbata and Adeshina are the two remaining Nigerian boxers in the Thai qualifiers.

While Patricia Mbata will face Oritz Vanessa of Mexico in the quarter-finals, Zainab will square up against Kaivo- Oja Pinia of Finland

The qualification series ends Sunday, 2nd June.
