November 11th governorship election: Imo women back Okoroma with prayer, fasting

As various political parties in Imo State, woe the electorates ahead of November 11th INEC schedule segmented governorship election, a group of women in the State, led by a renowned Clergy woman, Prophetess Joy Chinedu (aka Mummy Great), has declared a three-day Fasting and Prayer for Prof. James Okoroma, the Governorship Candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in the State.
The Director-general of Prof. James Okoroma Governorship Campaign Organization, Hon. Amaka Chiegene, disclosed this over the weekend in a media statement she endorsed and issued to media houses in Owerri, Imo State capital.
According to Chiegene, “the prayer and fasting programme was to lay spiritual cleansing foundation for, Prof. Okoroma’s campaign and subsequent victory in the Governorship election”.
She expressed optimism that Imo needs God’s intervention for the stoppage of the killings, arson, unemployment, kidnapping and abduction as well as other anti social vices which she noted as undermining the State’s developmental efforts.
Chiegene who was the immediate past State Woman Leader of Labour Party, LP before she was divinely directed to join Okoroma in ADC, noted that women, as mothers and wives, were usually the most vulnerable in conflict situations.
She further pointed out on the need for mother’s to seek the face of God whenever things were going wrong while decrying the inimical situations in Imo State which she insisted that they poses serious challenges and can only be divinely surmounted with prayers and assistance from God.
The prayers and fasting, she assured would involve women from the 305 electoral Wards in the State and in addition to Okoroma’s success during the Governorship election, the women will also pray for lasting peace in the state and unity among all the people of the State.
