Priest tasks catholics on harvest @ St Williams, Lafia, Nasarawa State

A catholic priest, Rev Fr Apesuu Godwin has tasked catholics to endeavour to participate fully during harvest.
Fr Godwin who was the chief celebrant during the 2023 harvest of St Williams Cathedral, Lafia, Nasarawa State, North Central, Nigeria said during his homily that harvest is a very important annual event which a devout catholic must fully participate in.
He noted that harvest is older than the church as it was celebrated even before the birth of Christ and the church.
Quoting from the scriptures Fr Godwin pointed out that the bible in Exodus 34:22, Proverb 3: 9-10 and Leviticus 23:10 dwelt on the importance of harvest.
He further charged catholics to always be prepared at all times for the coming of Christ like the five wise virgins in the scripture (Mathew 25:4) who took with them their lamp and the oil vessel while waiting for the bridegroom.
He noted that the bible passage of Mathew 25:4 clearly shows that man’s personal relationship with God cannot be borrowed.
“There are things that man cannot borrow and one of them is your relationship with God which is personal. And that was why the five foolish virgins who failed to get their vessel of oil could not borrow oil when they needed it with the Lord telling them…”I know you not.”
He prayed that the people of God should live a life of holiness that would see them on the last day gaining entrance into the wedding feast which is making heaven.
