Prostar Sports International Backs 2025 Gwagwalada Football League
Prostar Sports International has announced its support for the 2025 edition of the Gwagwalada Football League, which is set to conclude this weekend in Gwagwalada, Abuja.
Now in its 20th edition, the Gwagwalada Football League continues its mission of discovering and showcasing emerging football talent from the grassroots.
Since its inception in 2005, the tournament has grown into one of the Federal Capital Territory’s most vibrant community football events.
This year’s finale promises excitement as defending champions Ejiwumi FC prepare to renew their rivalry with Sheikhandam FC in what is expected to be a high-stakes showdown.
Speaking on the organization’s involvement, Mr. Paul Maduakor, CEO of Prostar Sports International, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting youth and grassroots development.
“Our support reflects Prostar’s deep commitment to youth development, sports excellence, and grassroots football empowerment in Nigeria,” Maduakor stated.
He revealed that Prostar will sponsor several key award categories, including Best Behaved Team of the Tournament, Best Goalkeeper, Highest Goal Scorer, Best Coach and Branded Shirts for officials, all aimed at motivating young players and coaches to strive for excellence on and off the pitch.
The 2025 Gwagwalada Football League kicked off on September 20, featuring 26 teams from Gwagwalada and surrounding communities.
As the tournament reaches its climax, fans eagerly anticipate a memorable finish to a competition that continues to be a cornerstone of grassroots football development in the FCT.
