PWA mourns the death of Hulk Hogan, says the immortal one’s legacy lives forever

Pro- Wrestling Africa, a body saddled with the responsibility of developing professional wrestling in the African continent has joined the global wrestling community in mourning the passing of Terry “Hulk Hogan” Bollea, a true legend whom it said that his charisma, strength, and larger-than-life persona forever changed the landscape of professional wrestling.
According to the tribute by the body signed by it’s Secretary General, Olusesan Olukoya, it said that ‘From the roaring chants of “Hulkamania” to the rebellious rise of the nWo, Hulk Hogan’s influence transcended generations, continents, and cultures, noting that his signature red and yellow colours, his iconic leg drop, and his powerful voice inspired millions of fans and wrestlers alike; including many African talents who grew up idolizing him.
The statement said that PWA recognizes Hogan not just as a pioneer of sports entertainment, but as a global phenomenon who helped take professional wrestling from regional arenas to the world stage.
“His matches were more than just fights; they were moments of history, etched into the hearts of fans forever.
“As we reflect on his immeasurable legacy, we extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and fans around the world. May his strength, passion, and “never give up” spirit live on in all of us.

5th edition of Racing 10s Rugby Tournament set for August 2
The 5th edition of the Racing 10s Rugby Tournament will take place on August 2, 2025, at the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos. Organised by Racing Rugby Football Club, the event will celebrate the growth, spirit, and unity of Nigerian rugby.
Featuring both 7s and 15s formats, the tournament brings together male, female, academy, and veteran teams from across the country, including notable sides like Police Rugby, Cowrie Rugby, Kings Rugby, Warri Rugby, AJ Sharks, host- Racing RFC and teams from Edo state.
Female teams include Cowrie Female, AJ Sharks 1 & 2, and Edo Female, while the academy category will feature Wolverines Rugby Academy and Racing Academy. Veteran teams like Frank Johnson and debutants Team Suraju will also be in action.
Speaking ahead of the event, Racing RFC manager, Emmanuel Ayewe explained that beyond advancing rugby development, the tournament aims to inspire the next generation of players,
strengthen community ties, and elevate rugby’s profile through fair play and adherence to World Rugby standards.
