Qatar 2022: Iranian “drones” fail to hit target in Qatar as USA land in Round of 16

It was a glorious night for the United States on Tuesday when they survived Iran to land in the Round of 16.

The grueling encounter was one which USA won by a lone goal.

USA went into the all-important match needing a win, while Iran needed just a draw to go through.

Chelsea hit man Christian Pulisic

got the job done for US with his 38th minute strike.

After dominating the first half, the USA team opted to defend their lead in the second stanza as they sat back and allowed Iran to do all the attacking.

Iran came close on several occasions but failed to find the much needed equalizer.

USA would on Saturday face Holland in one of the Round of 16 matches.
